Save a copy of your database as a .sql file.

1. Open phpMyAdmin (article 119) and select the database on the left.
2. Click the Export tab.
3. Choose Quick for a standard export, with the SQL format.
4. Click Export (Go) to download the .sql file.

Tip: Export your database before any update or major change. Keep dated copies so you can roll back to a specific point. You can also back up databases from the cPanel Backup tool (article 160).
