Databases share your account's resources, with some plan-based limits.

• Disk space: database size counts toward your total hosting disk usage (article 56).
• Number of databases: some plans cap how many databases you can create — check your limits (article 57).
• Performance: very large or unoptimised databases can slow your site. Optimise periodically (article 176).

Tip: Old plugins and spam comments can bloat a WordPress database. Clean it up regularly and remove databases you no longer use (article 125).
