If your account hits its resource limits, the site can slow or briefly go offline.

  1. Find the cause: check Metrics > Resource Usage in cPanel to see when and why limits were hit.
  2. Review plugins: poorly coded or excessive plugins are a common cause — deactivate suspects one at a time.
  3. Block bad bots/traffic: aggressive crawlers or attacks spike usage; block offending IPs (article 149) or use Cloudflare (article 139).
  4. Enable caching (article 168) to cut the work each visit requires.
  5. Optimise the database (article 176).

Note: If usage stays high after optimising, your site may have outgrown its plan — upgrading (article 66) gives it more resources. Contact support@hostingpartners.co.za if you need help identifying the cause.
