Permissions control who can read, write, or run your files. Wrong permissions cause errors.

1. Log in to cPanel and open File Manager.
2. Right-click a file or folder and choose Change Permissions.
3. Set: - Files: 644 - Folders: 755 - wp-config.php: 600 or 640 (more secure)
4. Click Change Permissions.

Important: Never set files or folders to 777 — it's a serious security risk. The standard 644 (files) and 755 (folders) work for almost everything.
