An A record points a domain or subdomain to a server's IP address.

1. Open Zone Editor in cPanel (article 131) and click Manage for your domain.
2. Click Add Record (or + A Record).
3. Enter: - Name: the domain or subdomain (for example, yourdomain.co.za. or shop) - Type: A - Address: the server's IP address (find yours in article 54)
4. Save.

Tip: Use an A record to point a domain to your hosting IP when you're keeping DNS elsewhere, or to point a subdomain to a different server (article 136).
